Spocmine Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of abdominal cramps. It works effectively to reduce abdominal pain and cramps by relaxing the muscles of the stomach and gut. It also blocks certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever.
May cause sleepiness — avoid driving. Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
The tablet is generally taken with food, 2–3 times daily as per physician advice, and is positioned as a short term spasm relieving analgesic for abdominal colic type complaints, not for chronic pain or long term NSAID use.
Common side effects are mainly GI and anticholinergic:
Contraindicated or used cautiously in patients with peptic-ulcer disease, GI-bleed risk, severe renal or hepatic impairment, glaucoma, urinary-retention disorders, myasthenia gravis, pregnancy, and in those on anticoagulants or other NSAIDs.
